January 10, 2022 - Patricia Stewart
The Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives welcomed their newest colleague to the education team. Jade Richards joined staff in late November 2021 and will be coordinating the MSU Dialogues program. MSU Dialogues is an intergroup dialogue program for students, faculty and staff at Michigan State.
This learning experience brings together people from different identity groups over a sustained period to deepen understanding of commonalities and differences, examine the nature and impact of societal inequalities, explore ways of working together toward greater equity and justice, and to prepare individuals to live, work and lead in a complex, diverse society.
Richards comes to the team from her role in MSU Extension where she served as a mental health program instructor and facilitated many of the Mental Health First Aid workshops. After several years of offering MSU Dialogues, Richards and the team will focus efforts on reviewing the curriculum and practices to ensure that we are delivering a relevant and up-to-date program that equips participants to engage in deep conversations and work toward advancing inclusive and equitable living and working spaces.
Please join in celebrating Richards' arrival and the work she is committed to.
